START EARLY!
These are the top ten things that you need to know to Ace exams!
Give yourself plenty of time.
Cramming doesn’t work. It just doesn’t. When you start to study weeks ahead you have plenty of time to read everything. It also gives you time to ask questions about anything you don’t fully understand.
Use an Agenda.
Write your study time in your agenda, even if it’s only 20 minutes a night. An agenda is one of the best organizational tools you have to help you prepare for your exams.
Set up a study stadium.
Okay, it doesn’t have to be an actual stadium—just an area where you can leave your notes, your pencils, and your dictionary. Someplace where you are comfortable and where there is little distraction—that means no TV or blaring music!
Look at the big picture.
How many pages in total do you have to study? How much time? If you have 50 pages to cover in 10 weeks, then that is only 1page a night on weekdays, with weekends off. That’s not so bad! You can even write down what pages to study on what night.
Study a little bit every night.
When you start early enough you can easily avoid the stress and anxiety of pulling an all-nighter. And, you can move at a steadier pace—20 minutes a night is easier to handle than 7 hours the night before. By the week before the exam you’ll have read everything at least once and you’ll be prepared!
Make your own notes.
Look at the chapter or unit or section. What are the titles, heading and subheadings? Are there any bolded words? Write these down. These are key words, and they are great indicators to help you know what the material is about.
Put it in your own words.
This is known a paraphrasing and it’s a great technique to help you really understand the material. Memorization and rote repetition? That’s for robots? You need to understand the material to succeed!
Cover, recite and check.
But how do you paraphrase? It’s as easy as reading over a page, a paragraph, or a sentence, then covering it up, and saying it back in your own words!
Don’t study the stuff you know well.
Start with the most challenging sections and move on from there. There is no point studying material that you are confident you know. A quick review to make sure you remember everything is enough.
Make classroom time active learning time.
The best study tip is one that doesn’t even involve studying, but happens way before studying—in the classroom. The secret to easy studying is to be an active learner in the classroom. Raise your hand. Ask questions. Participate in discussions. Don’t just sit and wait for the teacher to teach you, get involved in learning!

How To Scribe
To scribe, you must learn these terms:
Link-highlight a word and press the link button then look for a site that you think will build interest, then you copy and paste the URL. After you get a link, click on 'Preview' and test the link.
For example-Artemis Fowl
Image-find an image (Google images), then save it to your computer, then browse and find the image that you saved (delete if useless). You can change the layout and size. Then you press'Upload Image' then you're done. For example-
Video-go to Youtube, then find a video that will build interest in the math topic. Once you have found a video, click on it and go to the gray box, then highlight and copy the code that is in the box titled 'embed'. Then click 'edit HTML' on the blog, then scroll to the bottom then paste the code, then paste the code, and then click compose and preview.
For example-
Font-to change the font, click the arrow next to the word 'font', then scroll down and find a font that you like and that others can read.
For example-The quick brown fox jumps overs the lazy dog and into the stainless steel pole.
Colour-to change the colour, click on the T with the multi-coloured square, and then change the colours of important facts and titles. Try not to use too much colour, as it is distracting. Also, avoid colours like yellow, as it is hard to see.
For example-The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog and is shot by the hunter lying in wait.
Size-to change the size, click the double T's, then choose the size you want to write with. Just don't make the size too small or too large.
For example-The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog...and nothing happened to it.

Important Definitions:
Perpendicular- lines that intersect at right angles (90 degrees)
Parallel- lines in the same plane that never cross or interest
Interescting- lines that cross at any angle
Perpendicular bisector- a line that divides a line segment in half at a right angle
Angle bisector- a line that divides an angle into two equal parts
Acute angle- an angle at less than 90 degrees
Obtuse angle- an angle more than 90 degrees
Right angle- an angle exactly 90 degrees
- the formula for the area of a triangle is base times height divided by 2.
- the formula for the area of a parallelogram is base times height.
If the base of a parallelogram is 50m and the height is 20m, what is the area?
A= bxh
A= 50 X 20
A = 1000 m 2
Converting fractions, decimals and percents...
-Remember that fractions are out of any whole number.
-Percents are out of 100.
-Decimals are out of 1.
