Numbers

Factor- is a number that goes into a number exactly. With no decimals or remainders.
eg. 2 is a factor of 6
2 goes into 6 exactly 3 times
2 is not a factor of 5 because 2 goes into 5 2.5 times

Find the factors of 14, 4, 12, 16, 17, 24, 41, 96
14-1, 2, 7, 14
Why put it like that? The number is 14, 1 goes into 14 14 times and 2 goes into 14 7 times. That is also how you check if it's right or not.... (1 x 14 = 14, 2 x 7= 14)
4- 1, 2, (2) 4
12- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12
16- 1, 2, 4, 8, 16
17- 1, 17
24- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24
41- 1, 41
96- 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 32, 48, 96

Prime Numbers- are numbers with only 2 factors
These factors are 1 and itself
Composite Numbers- are numbers with more than 2 factors

Determine whether each number is prime or composite
....1....................9..............13...........28..........31.......41...........51
....^.................. ^............. ^............^............^.........^.............^
neither composite .....prime composite prime prime composite

Multiple- is the opposite of a factor
eg 10 is a multiple of 2
10 is a multiple of 5

The multiples of 4 are 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32............
Lowest Common Multiple- L.C.M.
the EG. to find the L.C.M. for 3 and 4

3- 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18
4-4, 8, 12, 16, 20

The least common multiple is 12.

Homework!!
Find all of the factors of 10, 18, 37
Determine which numbers are prime or composite 2, 11, 17, 27
Find the L.C.M. of 2 and 4, 3 and 5, and 6 and 7

  4. Ana, you did a really great job on posting what we did in school! Your explanations were easy to understand. I really like when you changed the color of your font and when you changed the font size. Also, I liked when you made your font bold. So, I thought that really stood out. But next time, you should try to put a video, a link, and also a diagram to show that you understood the meanings. But also, to extend the learning and to help understand the process and the meanings, to others. But other than that, I think you did a fantastic job! (yy)

I think that next time, you should add a video or some pictures which would've made your post better.
