Zero Pair
-a pair of integer chips with one chip reperesenting +1 and -1.
eg. +1 -1
The pair represent 0 because
(+1) + (-1) = 0
Opposite Integers
-two integers with the same numeral (number) but different signs. (+ -)
eg. + + - -
+2 -2
You can use these symbols to help add positive and negative integers.
eg. + + + + + - - - + - zero
+ - zero
+ - zero
+ +1
+ +1
5 + (-3) =2
Show using chips
(+2) + (+3) (-1) + (-5) (+4) + (-2) (+3) + (-6)
++ +++ = ++2 - - - - - - - - -2 ++++ - - + - 0 +++ - - - - - - + - 0
++2 - -1 + - 0 + - 0
+ 1 - -1 + 1 + - 0
- -1 + 1 - -1
- -1 - -1
- -1

Sorry about the "show using integer chips" part. It messed up. Sorry
ReplyDeleteGood job Nils! You included all the notes we were given today and you explained everything well. I think that instead of just writing - and +, you should've used circles. Anyways, you posted both a link and video which was great. Thanks for the reminder of the homework! (:
ReplyDeleteGreat job Nils! You explained everything well and it was easy to understand. I like the video you gave us, very helpful:) I also liked how you reminded us about the homework, overall, good job:)
ReplyDeleteGreat job Nils! You included all the notes we took in class in your post and everything made sense. Sometimes reading the ++, -- things confused me,the video you put was good and thanks for the remider about the homework, good job!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Nils! don't worry about the integer chips, we can still understand it. I guess? Thanks for the video, that helped me a lot. Also, nice link you posted. It can really help people that don't get integers. Thanks for posting homework. Keep up the good work, Nils.
ReplyDeleteGood job Nils. You had a nice blog. Although i found the font rather small and the positive and negative signs confused me. You posted a link and video. Other than that, everything else was well done :)
ReplyDeleteNice Job Nils. You made a nice blog good job !!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Job!. Very well explained and I liked the way you used different colours and added a video. Good Job!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Nils. The post was very well explained. I liked it when you changed your colours when theres inportant stuff. The one thing i liked the most was a video. Anyways Excellent Job ! :)
ReplyDeleteNils, you did a wonderful job! You took the extra time to find a video along with a link. So, I thought that was well done, but next time you should make your font a little bit bigger and try to explain your examples in a way that it's easy to follow. But other than that, you did a wonderful job.
ReplyDeleteThanks alot Nils!Did a great job.Nice vid,pics,and link.But next time make the font a little bigger.Anyays,great job!:)
ReplyDeleteNice job Nils! the video was very helpful and you explained everything goodly :) but when you were using the + and - signs it was sort of confusing so I think you should have made a picture instead or spaced it out more. anyways good job
ReplyDeleteGood job nils, I liked what you did,
ReplyDeletebut what ana said before using the +'s and -'s got sort of confusing, maybe you should use pictures instead of using that, it'd make alot of things more simplier for you, and for us. But other than that you did a great job, good job !
Good post, Nils! You included all the notes and it was neat. I liked your video and link. If i were to change anything, the show using chips part was confusing to understand. Other than that, great job!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Your post was very informative. I liked how you used colouful positive and negative signs, but yes, it did get messed up in the 'show using chips' part. I liked the fact that you put a video up and put a bright red homework reminder. However you could improve by using brackets when using your positive and negative signs eg(++) - (-) = (+). Other than that, good job.
ReplyDeleteGood job! I loved how you used colorful drawings so it woul be easier to see cause they are pretty small.Again, Good job Nils( or elmo)

ReplyDeleteGood post Nils(: I like how you explained what integers are and how you colour-coated the symbols. One thing you can improve on was try to make the font alittle bigger.
ReplyDeleteGood Job, Nils:)
ReplyDeletei like the video especialy, and how it really explained and helped me understand. Next time you could try to make the font a little bigger.
