Integers

Using a number line to add integers.

A vertical Number line.
Just in case:
Zero pair - A pair of integer chips with one chip representing +1 and 1 chip representing.
Opposite integers - Two integers with the same numeral but different signs.

(+2) + (+3) = 5
(-4) + (-2) = -6
(+3) + (-2) = 1

Positive Numbers move right. Negative numbers move left.
A number line can be vertical also.

  1. Great post Maya! You covered pretty much everthing of what we learned today in class, and it was easy to understand. A mistake you made was when you were talking about zero pairs, you forgot to say -1, also the word page was kind of hard to see, but thats okay. I liked how you gave us a website and video link, and I liked the pictures too. Keep up the good work Maya!:)

  18. Good post Maya(: I like how you included pictures to help us understand it more. One thing you can do next time is that for the key words like "Zero Pair" is that you can maybe add colour to that so it'll stick out more.
