The number of square units cantained in a two demensional shape
eg. 
this square has an area of 4 square units
-Area is the surface space a shape takes up.
Area of square or rectangle length X width=
L*W=area
eg.
area=6x3
=18 cm2
Parallelgram-a four sided figure with opposille sides parallel and equal
eg.
